  1. Request for GF version Review by Nick Vowles -

This product has been a store cupboard staple for many years. It's quick, easy, tasty and versatile. However, I am now having to do far more Gluten free catering. please can a gluten free version of this be sourced/developed? (Posted on 04/06/2019)

  2. Excellent and good value quick staple - great for camping Review by Thames Valley Veggies -

This is a lovely tasty mix and nicer than the burger mix, so do make burgers with it too. I add a bit of tomato puree and dried herbs for extra flavour. It's really useful as a base for any kind of patty or sausage, or simply on its own. We can really recommend this for camping and hiking as it is a very weight and volume efficient food for hungry people. Vegan too.
They hold together well, especially on frying, so if they are lightly fried, then put on a BBQ, that would work well.
Caterers and organisers of scout and guides trips etc would find this very useful as a standby to make any amount. Beware - whoever eats them will want more! (Posted on 06/06/2016)

  3. Excellent store cupboard standby Review by Anne Sheppard -

This tastes and looks exactly like Sosmix. I use if for lots of things and even carnivores think it makes great sausage rolls. You can add all sorts of things to it.

An important tip - the water that you add must be cold, warm water gives it a different and less pleasant texture. (Posted on 06/03/2016)

  4. Thank you!! Review by Nick Vowles -

Instructions are now on the label. Thanks SUMA! (Posted on 16/04/2013)

  5. More info on the packet please Review by Transition Bookham Food Group

I've only just bought this, so can't review it yet, but wanted to add my voice to Nick's.

"Instructions: 355g to 600ml cold water, mix well, form into sausages and shallow fry" should really be added to the label, not just visible online.

There's room beneath the ingredients list, so please add it to the next batch. (Posted on 09/05/2012)

  6. more info on the packet please Review by Nick Vowles -

Really useful easy meal product but the bigger packs could do with the proportion instructions with them (as given when buying in the smaller packs). To guess is to make too dry, as it really does need what seems like far too much water to hydrate properly.
We mix in some fresh herbs for great tasting Lincolnshire sausage stylee! (Posted on 20/11/2011)

  7. very versatile Review by calendula

As Joanne says, not just for making easy sausages, but this is also a fantastic base for stuffing mushrooms, peppers, etc. and also for making all sorts of patties with added goodies such as ground nuts of your choice. It really helps other ingredients stick together as an alternative to using eggs. I like to leave it to soak for quite a while so that I know it's hydrated really well and easy on the tummy. Good value source of protein. (Posted on 09/05/2011)

  8. Great stuff - better than Sosmix Review by Joanne

My local health food shop told me that Sosmix is discontinued and will be replaced by a non-vegan version from Granose.

I thought I'll have a try with the Suma own brand version and what shall I say - it's brilliant and doesn't contain any hydrogenated vegetable fats either!

Tip: Add less water and a bit of (vegan) pesto to make very yummy meatballs. Fry them up separately and add to the sauce at the end, so they don't fall apart. (Posted on 23/02/2009)
